Snow-shoeing on the Aubrac
Would you like to go snow-shoeing with a guide? Getting the knack, watching fauna, flora and the habitat of various animals in winter?
A mountain guide will help you to discover the beauties and winter secrets of the Aubrac.
This guided holiday is for everyone. The guided snow-shoeing group outings are a good opportunity to meet other holiday makers. The guide sets the pace according ti the level of the group.
It is possible to join the guided group just for a day or half a day.

A week's schedule
Sunday : meeting at the hotel from 4.30 pm onwards. Welcome drink and presentation of the program at ''La Route d'Argent'' at 7.30 pm by the mountain guide.
From Monday to Friday : be ready at 9 am every morning to go on a guided walk. According to the weather and the fitness level of each walker, the lunch is a packed lunch or a meal at the hotel.
Suggested program for a week of snow-shoeing
Monday : cascade du Déroc and Lac des Salhiens (waterfall and lake). Tuesday : Puy de Gudette (one of the Aubrac basalt peaks). Wednesday : Lac de Saint Andéol et de Born (2 lakes) et burons (bothies, mountain shelters). Thursday : Mailhebiau (the highest peak on the Aubrac). Friday : truc del Cocut (cuckoo hill). Saturday morning : Notre Dame de la Sentinelle (a statue of the Virgin Mary and a panoramic map). This program can be changed according to the weather.
Saturday afternoon : free.
Sunday : morning free and departure.
Practical information
Fitness level : everybody can join (5 to 6 hours dainly walks).
Equipment : only what is necessary for a day's walk.

In case there is not enough snow, this stay is turned into "Walks on the Aubrac"
You can combine snow-shoeing with fitness at the Chaldette thermal centre.
The prices include
- Full board accomodation per person for 7 nights in a double room at the hotel** or *** (traditional home cooking).
- Walks with a qualified mountain guide onto low and medium height mountains.
- The equipment (poles and snow-shoes) is provided.
The prices don't include
- Personal expenses, drinks, transport - cancellation, evacuation and repatriation insurances.
